FOR JOB SEEKERS

Continue Your Public Service.
Make Local Impact.

Civic Match is built for public servants — whether you're a career civil servant, a political appointee, a federal contractor, or a 2024 campaign staffer — who want to bring their skills to state and local government.

Civic Match is more than just a resume bank. Behind the scenes, our team of dedicated talent leads are working hard to match you with your next job. To get the most out of the program, create a profile, review our jobs board, apply for roles, and click “Mark ‘Interested’” on openings that are a good fit for you. Hiring managers are also actively recruiting Civic Match candidates – you may get an email from a hiring manager inviting you to apply for a role.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Civic Match is for federal workers — career civil servants, political appointees, contractors for federal agencies, and foreign service officers — and 2024 campaign staff who are looking for their next role and want to continue their public service at the state or local level.

  • Thank you for your interest in public service - we encourage you to use the Civic Match jobs board as a resource. The jobs board is public to everyone, so you can follow the “Apply” links and apply through a state or local government’s website.

  • The jobs board lists city and state government roles that Civic Match hiring partners are actively seeking candidates for. New roles are being added every week. Not every role on Civic Match is public - you may hear from hiring managers recruiting for a confidential position!

Click Apply to learn more and submit your application for the position. If the application link isn't available, check the Notes section for additional instructions.

Job seekers with Civic Match profiles can click Mark "Interested" to let the Civic Match team know that you are interested in the position so that we can advocate for you! Hiring managers on our platform can filter by "Interested in" to see all the candidates that are interested in the job, and may send you an invitation to apply.

NOTE: EXPRESSING INTEREST IN A ROLE ONLY ADDS THE JOB TO YOUR CIVIC MATCH PROFILE. IT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A JOB APPLICATION. Be sure to click Apply and submit a formal application for all roles that you are interested in!

  • All of the roles in Civic Match are for state and local governments. Nearly all of these positions require in-state residency, and many have additional residency requirements. Many positions offer a hybrid schedule – be sure to closely review the job description under “Apply” for more details on role responsibilities, minimum requirements and benefits, including hybrid options.
