Civic Match, our flagship initiative, is one way we’re doing that. Launched in November 2024, Civic Match is helping keep great public servants in service, and shining a spotlight on the unique opportunity cities and states have to recruit experienced, mission-driven talent at a time when they need it most. To date, Civic Match is connecting over 10,000 displaced federal and nonprofit workers with urgent job openings in state and local governments across 220+ cities and 48 states.
ROLE OVERVIEW
Work for America is seeking a Relationship Coordinator to support our Civic Match program.
You will own relationships with key government partners across the country. You’ll work directly with senior government officials, hiring managers, and HR teams to help them use Civic Match to find great candidates. Your goal is to help them succeed while building affinity and moving them towards deeper collaboration.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, works well with people, and has a passion for helping resolve problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support State and Local Government Employers
Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of government customers (cities, states, or other municipalities) who use the Civic Match platform.
Work with users at our customers to run status calls, help them post jobs, and help them recruit candidates.
Onboard new customers onto Civic Match.
Conduct status calls and training with new accounts and users.
Assist hiring managers from key partners with recruiting, by helping them improve job listings on Civic Match and supporting outreach to candidates.
Support in-person events like Civic Match live virtual job fairs, candidate Q&As, and other events as needed.
Support Civic Match Job Seekers
Work with job seekers to sign up for Civic Match, resolve issues, and successfully apply for state and local government jobs.
Support Civic Match Data and Program
Keep data about your partners up-to-date and organized on Civic Match and in the CRM.
Assist with developing and implementing strategies to build community and skills among job seekers and hiring managers.
Support Civic Match platform updates and maintenance.
Pull reports and clean data as needed to support your accounts.
Support the Civic Match team with additional operational projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
1-3 years experience in customer success, enterprise sales, or campaign organizing.
Exceptional customer service mindset – patient, responsive, and solutions-oriented.
Proficiency in data tools such as Excel/Google Sheets, Airtable, or other CRM/database platforms.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
Passion for public service and Work for America’s mission.
Experience with Hubspot a plus.
Interest in civic tech is a plus.
Experience directly working in government or with government partners a plus.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary for this role is $70,000 plus benefits. We offer medical, dental, and vision insurance, with multiple plan options to fit individual needs as well as access to health and flexible savings accounts. Paid time off includes: 20 vacation/personal days, 7 sick days, 11 paid holidays, and 3 weeks of annual office closures (1 week in late August, 2 weeks in Dec/Jan). We offer half-day Fridays year-round and encourage staff to log off by 1pm. We also provide an employer match for retirement savings and 12 weeks paid parental leave. To support remote work, we offer a work-from-home stipend and coworking space options.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Travel: This position requires access to a major US airport and a willingness and ability to travel occasionally (approximately 3 times per year).
Work Authorization: At this time, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship. All employees must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
